Joseph Wijaya is an environmentalist, Bali native and plastic hero. And, he’s only 11 years old. As the founder of Joseph Recycling, he’s on a mission to clean up Bali one plastic bottle at a time. Since founding his project in 2022, he’s helped to prevent mountains of trash from entering Bali’s beautiful oceans. However, his mission is far from over. With big dreams and even bigger determination, Joseph wants to transform the island — and Indonesia. With the support of his parents, Joseph collects and recycles plastic around Bali, and works with recycling companies in Java to make sure the plastic doesn’t end up in landfill. Ketut Lelut Cellelut has become a local legend on the island of Bali. Sometime's simply referred to as the 'Canggu dog man', he’s most famous for travelling around with his 6 dogs, although another 19 remain at home. As a pig farmer, he describes his dogs’ help as a mutually beneficial relationship as he helps restaurants reduce food waste. A staunch dog lover, the Indonesian local has spent several years helping abandoned and injured animals that need his help. 2000 turtles lay their eggs in one day on a Nicaraguan beach in latest Arribada. The Olive Ridley Turtle Arribada is one of the most spectacular natural phenomena to happen in Central America. Just south of San Juan Del Sur in Nicaragua, thousands of turtles arrive on the same beach to lay their eggs each year. These usually solitary reptiles gather in their thousands on Playa La Flor to dig their nests in the sand. It is one of the few remaining locations in the world that this takes place. Within just a few days, the beach is empty again. We were lucky enough to spend two days with these majestic creatures and have made a documentary about the Olive Ridley turtle nesting season. Located in Santiago on the coast of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, this ancient figure serves the community and helps those in need. Once a year, Maximon moves to a new house in a secretive ceremony.
